Three Miniatures date back to 1949. This is basically a simply composition, rather undemanding in terms of musician's technical prowess. Still, it quite rapidly earned recognition among professional orchestras. Undoubtedly one of the reasons for its popularity is its jocular character, achieved among others by the light-hearted instumentation, typical of Spisak. The work is also widely acknowledged by musicians thanks to a significant number of solo parts (on wind instuments).
