The compositions included in the book stand out from among other contemporary works for solo guitar thanks to their interesting, modern musical language, and they show the author’s fascination in elaborate harmony and American music. At the same time they contain clear message, which makes them easy to comprehend. Two Stories About Patrick, composed at the turn of 1997 and 1998 and dedicated to Pat Metheny, is the earliestof the compositions. Aquarius was written a year later, in 1999. And Cool Night Lights, a jazz ballad – in 2004. Level of the difficulty of the compositions is relatively high – they may be performed by students of secondary music schools, music academies and professional guitarists.
