Concertino, completed on 27th February 1942, is composed of three parts: Allegro, Andante and Allegro vivace. The title might suggest the use of sonata form, nonetheless in place of thematic dualism and classic development we find concerto and variational parts. The piece is characterized by motoric rhythm, relatively simply melody and harmony, and transparent texture.
